it's a fine line between fishing & just standing there
It's been quite sometime since my last blog, and after catching hell from Bro Skinny today, a la NMZ or Cory, it's time to update, comment & pontificate on current events. Firstly, I am back in the "Chuck", actually Devon, living with Jayson & Peaches. I accepted the position of "Technical Director of the World's Apprentice" at Rum with the man, the myth, the legend, BJ the DJ. We all know what that means, drinking, partying, and play tunes for the kids of E-town. We are in the process of renovating the club, and look towards an opening date of Oct 20th.
To catch up on other news, Tapps & me headed out to the coast for some R&R on sept 13th. After a long drive through the mountains filled with unexpected stops, inclement weather and an early morning layover in YLW, we arrived at Jenny's in the middle of rush hour. Thankfully, there was plenty of beer waiting for us and the games began. Considering me & Tapps are known for our outlandish behaviour, it was a laid back 6 days in the lower mainland. I hung out with the happy Kat for a few of those days. Lots of sleep and playing with Kelly's doomsday computer kept me occupied. It was great to see P&C's and happy the kids got to be together. The old long distance thing sucks, but when you love someone, you make it happen.
Our holiday was a 2 part journey. Originally planned for the second part to take place north of Edson, good ole mother nature made a change in the plans. We caught up with Dick's family at the Big Horn for a little fishing. It's been quite some time since I put my old saying into action, and as much as the aquatic life tormented me by eating the bait off my hook time & time again, I was successful & landed me a Bull Trout on our final night! Damn fish and their antogonistic ways. I could go on for hours about aquatic life and it's evil or cute ways, how this fish is good or that fish is bad, really who cares about dolphins or sharks? At the end of the day, they all taste great with a little garlic butter. But who am I to say anything about such a mindless as what would a fish look like if it were human? Maybe they would taste good with some Texas Bull BBQ sauce? I digress. It was a fun couple of days hanging out in the mountains, a must for next year.
I am heading down to Calgary on tuesday for a Nightclub convention, and hoping to see the boys plus pick up a few things from Tapps. There's a brief overview of the last 2 weeks. It's been fun being on holiday, I recommend it to everyone. I've included a photo of a bull trout, and when I get my camera, I'll add the real deal, until keep the wind in your sails, the sun at your back and drink plenty of Rum.
