Return to grace

What an interesting week. With the arrival of DJ Damo last thursday, it seems everythings falling into place with a positive outcome. After a potentially devasting setback from another crashed hard drive, it was Damo to the rescue. He experienced a similiar problem with a co-worker's external, giving him the knowledge that would bring my Seagate back to life. The weekend was a bit off the cuff working with Damo's set, but a success none the less. He acquired the necessary program to recover the lost data, and after an all night session the Seagate's data was reclaimed and safely transferred to Damo's External, in order to format the corrupted drive, then returned to it's place of origin. This somewhat stressful situation brought me back to memories of Feb 06, when I lost another harddrive with my photos from Europe along with my music collection. After returning to Canada, I attempted to recover the data with the help of tech staff at Memory Express, however they could not bring the drive to life at the cost of $100. So during the recovery of my Seagate, I gave Damo the Western Digital that he promptly connected to his MAC, and Voila! it worked! WTF!!! Life's great, everything back from the dead! Damo the lifesaver! Lesson learned, always have a back up plan. I look forward to revisiting so many great memories, along with the addition of lost music folders, including Buddha Bar, Cafe del Mar, and my Choons folder, containing select tracks by yours truly! Wow, me so happy, Thanks again Damo, you rock! Today, was another positive day as I took my bike in to Riverside for a spring tune up. She's going to be good to go for April, assuming mother nature plays along. I took the opportunity to return my mom's car that I've been driving the last month to her apartment, where my Shagallic was peacefully resting. She loves the fuel, hence her resting. With the onset of warmer weather, warm up time will be drastically decreased, thus increasing fuel economy. Other great news in the vehicle front comes, yet again from Damo, who found a replacement motor for my honda. I am torn between investing more money into this project. I really liked the car, and was hoping it would have made it through the winter. With spring on the door step, my need for a car, let alone 2, makes little sense. What's a boy to do? I'll give it a few days. See what happens. The honda got a boost today, as I realized my sunroof was open a crack allowing water to enter the car. Not a good thing, so power she got from the Caddy, along with a windshield wash, as to make it look like someone still showed interest in her. Mom's back in a week from LA, and Tapps will be here for Easter. In like a Lion, not the BC kind, and out like a lamb at 12000RPM. Oh, and it looks like Screetch's dream to work on ships may come to fruition by the end of April. His tattoo's removal is coming along nicely, and with research into job alternates, he will at the least, be working in the Caribbean, Mexico, or Australia. He's expressed his dissatisfaction with winter, and the desire to travel. Sounds familiar. All the best for Justin and his pursuit of happiness. And on that happy note, Live long, and prosper.
