Time & Tide
Happy Waynesday to all. It's with a heavy heart that I share the loss to my family of my aunt's husband. My Uncle Pat passed away saturday afternoon. My thoughts and feelings are still very fresh. In reflection earlier this evening, Uncle Pat was a strong man, a father of 3 children, and a husband to my father's only sister, who proceeded him in age. Uncle Pat always had a smile on his face. He was a jovial man and loved to laugh. He will be sadly missed for his dynamic presence in our family. My thoughts and prayers go out to my aunt, cousins and their families in this time of bereavement.
After receiving the news of my uncle's passing, I made a sporatic decision to go on a road trip to Calgary. I felt the necessity to be with those whom I love, and feel the most comfortable with. Along for the journey came Justin, my roommate, and newest in my long term friends. My thanks goes out to Tapper & Cory for their gracious hospitality, as always, and to Cracker & Dick for staying asleep as long as they did. I can only imagine, how fun that ride home was.
I've experienced loss in the past of family members, and was without immediate contact of loved ones. With Uncle Pat's passing, I chose to be with the boys, and as fate would have it, 4 would be in the same place at the same time. Thank you brothers. You've always been there for me, and for that I love you with all my heart.
I look forward to thursday, and hearing about my Uncle Pat through the words of friends & family. This will be an opportunity to see him as more than an uncle, but that great man that he will always be remembered for.
