a keen fashion sense

Well what can I say? Jay-bro pulled out the photo album from the Waterpark days, and low & behold a photo of yours truly from the early days of my DJ career. I've highlighted points of interest. It's been 16 yrs since the days of Wayne's World. Ah the good old days of lifeguarding, the Goose and Mad, Mad Mondays. I must say of all the fashion faux pas', the mighty moustache stands out as the worst idea any of us had. Thankfully, it's only recently that I can truly say I look outright stupid, as I did at the end of Wayne's World, when I tried to grow one.
Today was a good day, as I purchased a car for the winter. I am the proud owner of a Honda Prelude. She's a bit of a fixer upper, but the alternative of welding training wheels on my bike for the winter is out of the question. We're rolling right along at Rum with our renos, and will have the truss completed with the exception of the MR16's. Sadly, everything will be covered in black plastic til the grand opening. We're working on our DJ Booth concept that will have us in the centre of the room under the mirrorball. Hopefully the boss will go for it.
The hot tune for the week, Fedde LeGrand - Put your hands up for Detroit. Check it out.
and to end this blog, 5 pts to the person who knows what colour my eyes are...?

ciao for now

Cockblocker

it's been a wild week of fun, excitement & hard work. When given the opportunity to guide the rich & famous through an evening of debauchery & mayhem, one must consider the possibility of those who might take advantage of said opportunity. For those with less experience than the masters, must learn, we know what you are doing, and shall beforthwith punished for your misdeeds. I digress.
Flashback to saturday night, with the DJ booth rockin' from people dancing on the floor, I was taken back to Ferry Corsten@Escape, some 200ft. away. The two experiences combined to move concrete with the force of dancing. WOW.
Big thanks to Tapps for bringing my essentials from Calgary, and a pleasure to see P's & C's. It's been almost a month from our last visit, 4 more weeks to go.
I'm closing the deal tomorrow in the purchase of 4 wheel transportation for the winter. Yes, another Honda to add to my collection. Yaw, time for bed. Peace to the out, and hey, try to bring Sexy Back.

Happy Monday

What a great start to the week. A productive day at work followed by shopping at Extra Foods, then home to watch the game. Sadly, the boys lost a tough one in Vancouver, but it's a home@home series, and I am going with Jayson, Ken & Monique tomorrow. It's been forever since I've seen the Oilers play at home. Looking forward to that. I brought home some pics from work, so I am including a sneek peek of our new UFO effect. It's totally Rockstar as you will see. My next photo comes from this lucid dream sequence I am working on. Enjoy. Just waiting on Tapps, then it's off to La La Land. Sweet Dreams.

We'll take a holiday

Boddhisatva Linny, such wisdom speaking volumes about your" Life Strategy." To comment: Get buzzed, get drunk, get krunked, get fucked up!
2 to the 1 to the 3 - conversation & Hennessy.
Saturday night - Etown. Oil triumphant over the Av's. Wayne Wonder rockin' the stage at Rum Jungle, and Delerium. Reading the Welcome Home sign at Rexall, plus the banners hanging from the rafters. What will sunday bring?

the Headlines

Oct 10 - Like a strange play ripped from the playbooks of the '72 Summit, wherein a keen "Fashion sense" could have prevented fear so great to force their competetors into coercing officials? Today's event sounds the horn at the end of sports worlds most bizarre tales of greed, power and lust for the game.
Two men, one fate. The name decides the rest.

Taking a deep breath, he paused to open the door. Smid looked up and opened the door and stood at the entrance to the Zamboni. It would be where the greatest trade in hockey takes place.

You're in Oil Country, baby!

Where to begin. Firstly, If Tapps or anyone hears him speaking blaspheme against our Oil, like wearing a Jersey, of which he never would cause the guy hasn't bought anything for himself since 1998, there's going to be a rumble, and we're talking Old Skool Dave Brown Lawnmower starting on his ass! But I digress. It's a joyous night here in E-town. The Oil are up 1-0 in our season series, and like NMZ, I am ahead in my season wager with Calgary Restauranteur Brad Bell. Back to back wins would be nice to start of the season. And who's jealous of the gold digger going to the season opener? Way to go Linny! You better have some great pics to show, and yes, I excuse you from your morning classes. If you need a note for your profs, I am here from you.
It was a productive day at work, as the renovations to Rum are coming along nicely. The boys worked on the sign for outside, while me, BJ & Todd smoked a lot of dope and sang songs from the 80's while installing the lights. Okay, there was no use of drugs, but by god there was singing. We even got Curt's roommate in on it. Didn't see that one coming. IF you meet Aaron, you would think the same thing. It's going to be a fun day tomorrow, as Clayton's coming by with the new Martin "laser" that some of you may have seen at the Oiler's game tonight. He's going to demo it tomorrow night as a prelude of the insanity the will be the New RUM JUNGLE. On a side note, I went shopping for a new housecoat & socks today. Sadly, my intent was to find one similar to the Ralph Lauren I once owned as seen on my aug 23 blog, but Alas, Ralph Lauren has closed up shop at WEM. So, off to the Bay, and yet again, no Ralph! WTF? So I settled on a Buffalo from Winner's and no not one skinned from a four legged prairie roamer, but an Uber-warm fleece. Oh, the socks are black.
Two final thoughts, great to see Rollie back between the pipes and how many day til we get to BOO that wanker Pronger!

it's a fine line between fishing & just standing there

It's been quite sometime since my last blog, and after catching hell from Bro Skinny today, a la NMZ or Cory, it's time to update, comment & pontificate on current events. Firstly, I am back in the "Chuck", actually Devon, living with Jayson & Peaches. I accepted the position of "Technical Director of the World's Apprentice" at Rum with the man, the myth, the legend, BJ the DJ. We all know what that means, drinking, partying, and play tunes for the kids of E-town. We are in the process of renovating the club, and look towards an opening date of Oct 20th.
To catch up on other news, Tapps & me headed out to the coast for some R&R on sept 13th. After a long drive through the mountains filled with unexpected stops, inclement weather and an early morning layover in YLW, we arrived at Jenny's in the middle of rush hour. Thankfully, there was plenty of beer waiting for us and the games began. Considering me & Tapps are known for our outlandish behaviour, it was a laid back 6 days in the lower mainland. I hung out with the happy Kat for a few of those days. Lots of sleep and playing with Kelly's doomsday computer kept me occupied. It was great to see P&C's and happy the kids got to be together. The old long distance thing sucks, but when you love someone, you make it happen.
Our holiday was a 2 part journey. Originally planned for the second part to take place north of Edson, good ole mother nature made a change in the plans. We caught up with Dick's family at the Big Horn for a little fishing. It's been quite some time since I put my old saying into action, and as much as the aquatic life tormented me by eating the bait off my hook time & time again, I was successful & landed me a Bull Trout on our final night! Damn fish and their antogonistic ways. I could go on for hours about aquatic life and it's evil or cute ways, how this fish is good or that fish is bad, really who cares about dolphins or sharks? At the end of the day, they all taste great with a little garlic butter. But who am I to say anything about such a mindless as what would a fish look like if it were human? Maybe they would taste good with some Texas Bull BBQ sauce? I digress. It was a fun couple of days hanging out in the mountains, a must for next year.
I am heading down to Calgary on tuesday for a Nightclub convention, and hoping to see the boys plus pick up a few things from Tapps. There's a brief overview of the last 2 weeks. It's been fun being on holiday, I recommend it to everyone. I've included a photo of a bull trout, and when I get my camera, I'll add the real deal, until keep the wind in your sails, the sun at your back and drink plenty of Rum.
